Professional Moth Control
in Bexley
If you’ve noticed small holes in carpets, rugs, or clothing, you may be dealing with a moth infestation. These pests often remain hidden until the damage becomes visible, by which point they’ve usually spread through several rooms.
At Proton Moth Control, we provide professional moth treatments for homes and businesses across Bexley. Our local technicians use safe, proven methods to remove infestations quickly and prevent them from returning.
Understanding Moth Problems in Bexley
Independent monitoring by the Rothamsted Insect Survey and Butterfly Conservation shows that clothes moth populations across southern England have risen steadily since the early 2000s. Warmer indoor environments and reduced use of chemical cleaning agents have allowed moth larvae to survive year‑round, which means infestations are now more common in Bexley homes than they were a decade ago.
We see moth activity most frequently in older properties with fitted wool carpets, wardrobes containing natural‑fibre clothing, and lofts used for storage. Because moths prefer dark, undisturbed spaces, infestations can develop unnoticed for months before the damage becomes visible.
Visible Signs of a Moth Infestation
Typical signs include small, irregular holes in carpets or clothing, silky webbing at the edges of fabrics, and fine, gritty debris near damaged areas.
You may also see adult moths emerging from wardrobes or loft spaces. The larvae, not the adult moths, cause the damage, feeding continuously on natural fibres such as wool and cashmere.

Professional Moth in Chelsea – Treatment That Lasts
While DIY sprays and traps may reduce visible moths, they rarely solve the underlying issue. The larvae hidden deep in carpets, under furniture, or inside wardrobes continue to cause damage. Professional treatment targets every stage of the moth life cycle, ensuring complete eradication and long‑term protection.
